TBOX 2019 Ready to Light Up Wrigley for 24th Year this Winter!

TBOX 2019 - Lakeview East Community Partnership - Charity

What exactly is this “TBOX” You’ve Heard So Much About? The short answer is, an acronym for Twelve Bars Of Xmas. A pub crawl Chicagoan Christopher Festa started in 1996 for a few friends, TBOX® has grown to be the world’s largest and longest-running event of its kind, serving over 200,000 crazy costumed crawlers over 23 years. Mr. Festa is recognized as the originator of the commercial bar crawl industry, and his company TBOX Bar Crawls (www.tbox.org) has helped bring millions in business to Wrigleyville, particularly during the off-season. TBOX has also hosted annual Mardi Gras and Baseball Crawls since 2009, focused on a creating a creative and memorable experience for every customer. TBOX has donated over $283,000 to local charities, and this year is partnering with the Lakeview East Community Partnership for TBOX2019. A minimum of $40,000, will be donated directly to the 501c3 organization to enhance the quality of life in Lakeview by supporting community development projects as well as arts and neighborhood beautification.

2019 will be the 24th edition of TBOX, taking place on Saturday, December 14, from 10AM to 8PM at over 30 Wrigley Venues, with Cubby Bear hosting a festive Opening and Closing Ceremonies to kick off and conclude the event. For the ticket price of $18-35, participants receive admission to all venues, plus drink specials from Sponsors Bud Light and Goose Island Beers, Effen Vodka, Cruzan Rum, and Maker’s Mark Bourbon. Participating venues will be reserved to exclusively host the 12,000-16,000 expected crawlers during event hours.

TBOX features a creative yearly theme, and this year it’s all about MEMES – the popular viral images and videos that rule Internet Culture. Crawlers are encouraged to dress as their favorite Meme, and TBOX will host pre-event Meme Contests to win tickets; and Meme Pop-Ups and Décor will be featured throughout the event.

TBOX Bar Crawls (Festa Parties Incorporated) permits the event through the City of Chicago, coordinates with the 44th Ward and 19th Police District, hires private security, and arranges for barricades, toilets, cleanup, and other safety and logistic measures. The event is approved by the 44th Ward Alderman and 19th Police District. And unlike other street festivals, the eating, drinking, and spending at TBOX happens exclusively in the brick and mortar businesses in our neighborhood year-round.

TBOX has been featured extensively in media such as FOX, CBS, ABC, CLTV, and WCIU TV, WGN Radio, RedEye, Thrillist, Chicagoist, TimeOut, and more. Country Music Superstar Brett Eldredge and Reality Star Brett Robinson are among the celebrities who’ve attended in recent years. And TBOX’s reputation is nationwide, with 20% of customers coming in from out of state. TBOX is a truly unique Chicago and Wrigleyville Tradition – often imitated, never duplicated!
